Wonder #7

The Great Pyramid of Giza, over 140 meters high along with a base of 230 meters, this huge pyramid built by Pharaoh Cheops (between the years 2650 - 2500 BC) is the only one of the seven wonders that still stands. In the image we can appreciate the original aspect of the pyramid, what we can highlight is that the cusp was covered with solid gold as a sign of the power and wealth of Egypt, although over the hundreds of years it has lost part of its original appearance .

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, were built in 600 BC by Nebuchadnezzar II in the city of Babylon within the country that is currently Iraq, according to historians this building was made by the King of Babylon for his wife who had been born in the midst of mountains vegetation As we can see in the image, the water ran through the terraces up to more than 20 meters high, today there is very little physical evidence of what this work was as it deteriorated rapidly.

The Temple of Artemis in Ephesus, was ordered to be done by the king of Lydia in honor of the goddess Artemis in 550 BC located in the ancient city of Ephesus that is currently Turkey, 20 meters high but with 127 columns (we can appreciate the magnitude of this work in the image), but today only one remains standing since it was burned by Eróstrato on July 21, 356 a. and. c., supposedly on the same night that Alexander the Great was born.

The Lighthouse of Alexandria, a mega structure built between the years 287 - 247 B.C. devised by Sóstrato de Cnido by orders of Ptolemy I, the king of Egypt. This huge lighthouse was located on the island of Faro average around 150 meters high, the purpose of the Lighthouse of Alexandria in addition to being an immense landmark was also used as a fortress, it stood for around a millennium until its destruction by a series of earthquakes in the fourteenth century. In the image we can see its ancient appearance with a square base and a cylindrical tower.
