The Lighthouse of Alexandria, a mega structure built between the years 287 - 247 B.C. devised by Sóstrato de Cnido by orders of Ptolemy I, the king of Egypt. This huge lighthouse was located on the island of Faro average around 150 meters high, the purpose of the Lighthouse of Alexandria in addition to being an immense landmark was also used as a fortress, it stood for around a millennium until its destruction by a series of earthquakes in the fourteenth century.
